Obtaining Press Passes:

Reporters (including staff-, freelance-, and online-) were required to provide one of the following types of documentation:

  • A letter of verification from the news organization he or she represents, on company letterhead and signed by the editor.
  • A copy of a business card (with name, editorial title and media outlet’s logo), and a copy of the online publication with the reporter’s name and title appearing in an editorial capacity. This must include a bylined article written by him or her that has been published within the past six months.

Filming and Recording Policies:

TV crews, reporters and photographers were encouraged to attend RETECH press events.

Trade Show Floor : Television/radio/photography/film crew and accredited reporters had access to the Trade Show Floor. Dedicated PR staff were available to facilitate personalized interviews with exhibitors.

Keynote Session : Television/radio/film crew and reporters with accreditation had access to the keynote session.

Business Conference and RETECH Side Events: To film or record speakers at any of the Business Conference or RETECH Side Event sessions, it was necessary to consult ACORE's media department prior to the conference, at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Press Room:

The press room was equipped with high-speed internet connections, and space was available for members of the press to conduct interviews.

Please Note:

Only online reporters with commercial news websites qualified for complimentary registration. Websites must have been previously established and contained original material. Blogs, personal website writers, designers, editors, and creators did not qualify for complimentary press registration.

Non-editorial employees of media organizations, including but not limited to marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, and publishers, do not qualify for complimentary press registration. Non-editorial press were able to register on-line through the paid registration process.

Members of the press who are working with complimentary credentials were prohibited from soliciting business from exhibitors, spokespeople or attendees during RETECH 2010.

Compliance with safety guidelines was required by the Washington, D.C. Convention Center. A copy of the Convention Center’s guidelines was available upon request. Check here for updates and further information, including the press conference schedule.
